80 Pounds…Where Did It Go?
“Why me, why now?” That’s what I want to blog about.
During the last 2 years (since May, 2006), I have lost 80 pounds. This is a very good thing. But what did I do? How did I do it? The simple answer is: I did all the usual healthy things people tell you to do.
When people ask, I tell them about my wonderful YMCA. I tell them about how despite its detractors, low carb diet really worked well for me (and soon I will blog about why). I tell them about how much I love Weight Watchers, despite my initial resistance.
But–as interested as peopole are in hearing my story–nobody has come to my Y, or tried low carb eating, or joined Weight Watchers, from being inspired by my success. I think that’s because everybody already really knows how to lose weight, and I’m not really telling them the true secret they are looking for.
So, what does make the difference? Out of all of the people who try to do this, why have I been successful? And out of all the times I have tried, why was I successful this time? What is different about me now?
These are the questions I want to answer in this blog, as I work to keep the weight off (that is, to shed the extra pounds I gained this winter and get back on track), and perhaps even apply the same success to other facets of my life.
In this blog, I will bring together news, tips, links to other good web sites, reviews of books, and hopefully (with your help) discussion about what works and what doesn’t.
Whether you need to lose weight and are looking for that “extra oomph,” or you have had success and want to share your story, I hope you’ll visit this blog and keep up with the latest information about healthy weight loss.
Welcome!
Veronica Brown
